Hello
I am Christine Swenson
After more than 25 years as a practicing attorney, I retired from law and am shifting my career to proofreading to allow me to spend time with my family. I have worked as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, U.S. immigration attorney, and college professor. I have been proofreading throughout my career, whether it was my legal briefs submitted to court, the Executive Office for Immigration Review (immigration court), or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, my students' research papers, or law students' bar exams. Proofreading comes naturally to me. Now, I am applying my skills and experience to this career.
Having spent years in the courtroom, I have profound respect for court reporters and their work. With more than 70 felony jury trials, more than 100 bench trials, and countless evidentiary, sentencing, and probation violation hearings, I'm very accustomed what goes on there. This is why I specialize in legal transcript proofreading. My first-hand knowledge of and experience with U.S. state and federal court systems — including civil, criminal, and administrative courts — sets me apart from other proofreaders. Put the depth and breadth of my experience to work for you!
When I'm not proofreading, I'm enjoying being with my family and friends, walking my dog, scuba diving, and teaching others how to scuba dive!
